ΘΕΣΗ ΕΡΕΥΝΗΤΙΚΗΣ ΕΡΓΑΣΙΑΣ

Η ΘΕΣΗ ΕΡΓΑΣΙΑΣ ΕΧΕΙ ΚΑΛΥΦΘΕΙ

Η Ομάδα για την In Silico Ογκολογία και την In Silico Ιατρική (www.in-silico-oncology.iccs.ntua.gr) του Εργαστηρίου Μικροκυμάτων και Οπτικών Ινών, του Ερευνητικού Πανεπιστημιακού Ινστιτούτου Συστημάτων Επικοινωνιών και Υπολογιστών του Εθνικού Μετσοβίου Πολυτεχνείου (ΕΠΙΣΕΥ-ΕΜΠ), ενδιαφέρεται για την πλήρωση μίας θέσης ερευνητικής εργασίας, με σύμβαση έργου, στα πλαίσια της υλοποίησης ευρωπαϊκών και διεθνών ερευνητικών προγραμμάτων.

Η θέση εργασίας αφορά στην περιοχή της πολυεπίπεδης/πολυκλιμακωτής υπολογιστικής προσομοίωσης του καρκίνου και της in silico ογκολογίας. Οι υποψήφιοι μπορεί να είναι διπλωματούχοι ή διδάκτορες Ηλεκτρολόγοι Μηχανικοί και Μηχανικοί Υπολογιστών ή διπλωματούχοι/διδάκτορες άλλων Πολυτεχνικών Σχολών ή Σχολών Πληροφορικής με ειδίκευση στις Τεχνολογίες Λογισμικού.

Θα επιλεγούν υποψήφιοι χωρίς άλλες σπουδαστικές, επαγγελματικές ή ακαδημαϊκές υποχρεώσεις έτσι ώστε να μπορέσουν να αφοσιωθούν αποκλειστικά στις ερευνητικές δραστηριότητες της ομάδας. Το ύψος της αμοιβής θα προσδιοριστεί ανάλογα με την επιστημονική εξειδίκευση και την εμπειρία των υποψηφίων. Το ενδεχόμενο εκπόνησης διδακτορικής διατριβής για μη κατόχους διδακτορικού διπλώματος στα παραπάνω πλαίσια θα εξεταστεί κατά περίπτωση.

Οι υποψήφιοι θα πρέπει να ενδιαφέρονται για την εφαρμογή των τεχνολογιών λογισμικού στο χώρο της in silico (υπολογιστικής) Ιατρικής και Βιολογίας. Συγκεκριμένα, η θέση εργασίας αφορά στους εξής βασικούς άξονες:

* Ανάπτυξη υπολογιστικών συστημάτων αποθήκευσης και διαχείρισης ογκοπροσομοιωτικών μοντέλων και αντίστοιχων πολυκλιμακωτών ιατρικών/βιολογικών δεδομένων (σχεδιασμός και υλοποίηση σχετικών λογισμικών υποδομής και διεπιφανειών χρήστη).
* Σχεδιασμός, υλοποίηση και έλεγχος της αρχιτεκτονικής σύνθετων συστημάτων λογισμικού τα οποία θα προσλαμβάνουν, θα αποθηκεύουν και θα επεξεργάζονται ετερογενή και πολυδιάστατα βιοϊατρικά δεδομένα, θα εκτελούν σχετικούς υπολογιστικούς κώδικες σε συστήματα υψηλής υπολογιστικής απόδοσης (clusters, grid, cloud κλπ.) και θα οπτικοποιούν τα αποτελέσματα παρέχοντας εξόδους σε μορφές φιλικές προς το χρήστη.

Επιθυμητές γνώσεις/εμπειρία:

* Εκτεταμένες γνώσεις επιστήμης υπολογιστών.
* Θα εκτιμηθούν ιδιαίτερα ειδικές γνώσεις/εμπειρία σε: relational databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgressSQL), web application technologies (e.g. AJAX, Javascript, PHP, Python), NoSQL databases (MongoDB), virtualization and cloud computing, C++/Matlab/SBML/Java programming, Semantics and Ontologies (e.g. MarkUp Languages, RDF, OWL, Triple Stores, SPARQL).

ACGT's most innovative and advanced support tool is its oncosimulator, a piece of mathematical modelling, simulation and visualisation software and an in silico experimental platform.

The In Silico Oncology Group (http://www.in-silico-oncology.iccs.ntua.gr) is developing this platform in collaboration with several research centres in Europe and Japan.

First Summer School in Computational Oncology
Heraklion, Crete, Greece - June 13th-18th, 2011


The summer school is for both clinicians/medical students and engineers/basic scientists/engineering students who wish to learn the principles of computational oncology from pioneers in the field.
The scope of this summer school is to provide basic training on the new research dimension of computational oncology based on the experience of four European collaborative projects in this direction (ACGT, ContraCancrum, TUMOR and pmedicine).
